Witchcraft: A Tradition Renewed (First Edition) by Evan John Jones with Doreen Valiente – Traditional Witchcraft & Clan of Tubal Cain

Traditional Witchcraft, Clan of Tubal Cain, Evan John Jones Doreen Valiente

Witchcraft: A Tradition Renewed stands as one of the most significant works on Traditional Witchcraft to emerge from the late twentieth century. Authored by Evan John Jones, who succeeded Robert Cochrane as the leader of the Clan of Tubal Cain, and written in collaboration with the renowned Doreen Valiente, this foundational text provides a rare look into practical witchery outside of mainstream Wiccan traditions.

The text outlines the core philosophy, rites, and workings of non-Wiccan Traditional Witchcraft. Deeply practical and steeped in British folklore, it provides comprehensive guidance on coven structure, traditional tools—such as the stang, knife, and cauldron—along with oaths, seasonal sabbats, and working with spirits. Doreen Valiente contributes a thoughtful preface, cementing this volume's position as an indispensable work for serious practitioners, occult historians, and collectors of modern esoteric literature.

This rare 1990 UK first edition published by Robert Hale represents a vital historical link to the lineage of Robert Cochrane and the Clan of Tubal Cain. Featuring original blue cloth boards, gold foil blocking, and the distinctive stang emblem on the dust jacket, it is a preserved piece of modern pagan history.
