Qliphoth, necromancy, vampirism
Sacerdotium Umbrae Mortis by Gilles De Laval presents a complete system of initiation and priestly rites centred upon the Priesthood of the Shadows of Death. Drawing upon the Qliphoth, necromantic practice and the esoteric symbolism of the eleven tribes of Canaan, the work explores a dark initiatory tradition concerned with vampirism, shadowforms and communion with the Lords of the Abyss.
The grimoire sets out a structured path through four stages of initiation and four grades of mastery, supported by extensive correspondences, ritual formulae and practical magical material. Its system incorporates conjuration sigils, seals, illustrations and tables of days, hours, elemental and planetary correspondences intended for infernal and necromantic work.
A major theme is the transformation of consciousness through engagement with the predatory and vampiric forces associated with the eleven Qliphothic hells. The book examines these forces through a system of ordered correspondences, presenting them as hostile shadowforms and as gateways towards altered states of consciousness and occult initiation.
For collectors of contemporary dark occult literature, this Second Edition is particularly significant. The first edition, published in 2014, reportedly went out of print shortly after publication, while this 2018 edition is itself now described as out of print in all editions. The combination of its specialised subject matter, practical ritual content and scarce availability makes it a notable addition to a collection of Qliphothic and ceremonial literature.
This edition is presented in a striking maroon cloth binding with gilt decoration and contains black-and-white illustrations, sigils, tables and references throughout.
