IMAGO: Body. Vision. Magick. by Robert H. Allen (Cloth Hardcover Edition) – Ceremonial Magic & Visionary Art

vision magick, ceremonial magic, Austin Osman Spare

IMAGO: Body. Vision. Magick. by Robert H. Allen serves as a practical and visionary guide to the magical power of images. At its heart lies a central premise: image, vision, and imagination are not secondary ornaments of esoteric practice, but living forces through which the practitioner perceives, enchants, shapes, and transforms reality. Allen restores the image to its rightful place at the core of Western esoteric traditions, providing a disciplined path for modern practitioners.

Drawing from early Neoplatonism, ceremonial magic, Austin Osman Spare, Aleister Crowley, poetry, radical art, and avant-garde theatre, this work demonstrates how images become vehicles of initiation, ritual transformation, and embodied spiritual experience. Through a structured step-by-step approach to vision magick, Allen guides the reader into methods of attention, embodiment, symbolic perception, and creative ritual work designed to cultivate the magical imagination.

The author brings over half a century of practical experience in ceremonial magic, including long-standing ties to Kenneth Grant's Ordo Typhonis, the Temple of the Silver Star, and the A.˙. A.˙. Jane Wolfe lineage. Combining occultism, fine art, physical theatre, yoga, and performance, this volume bridges body, image, and ritual presence. It offers an indispensable manual for magicians, artists, and seekers who wish to train vision as a direct instrument of sorcery and spiritual transformation.
