3 Nights with 3 Witches
About a month ago, I made a ring of protection that I was supposed to sell in my store. But, as usual, I was drawn to it and decided it would be mine.
After wearing the ring for a few weeks, I didn’t think it was doing its job very well, to be honest, and it seemed to be losing its magical power—at least in my mind.
Around the third or fourth week of wearing it, I had a meeting with the daughters of a witch three different times for personal reasons. Each time, I became ill on the same day after I left them (three times in total). I started connecting the dots and wondered if they might have cursed me or given me the evil eye.
After the third time I got ill, I kept looking at the ring and thinking, “This isn’t working very well.” I thought I might have to do a spell to send back their negative energy and protect myself more in the future.
I do carry amulets with me, but before the ring I had never had anything specifically for protection. The other amulets I carry are more passive, as they weren’t dedicated to protection.
Then the other day, it hit me.
I hadn’t spoken to the ring. I hadn’t called on its protection. Maybe it was in a dormant state.
I call on the sun ring I wear during ritual with a secret invocation, yet for some reason I never did this with the other items I possess. After calling on the ring, I felt the bad energy lift. Speaking activated it—just like words do every time we perform a ritual.
It always takes me back to that old Bible verse:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
You are the word.
So speak it, and it will be.
